Cannes Lions 2010 – Digital Insights, Videos and Interviews

It was quite a week in the south of France last week. The annual gathering of several thousand creatives, advertisers, marketers and tech bods, was the best yet for those into digital.

Over 24K entries into the awards this year showed the dim clouds that had crowded the Croisette last year were being blown away, and online was definitely taking centre stage.

Our team was on the ground blogging and tweeting the sessions and we weren’t disappointed by the quality of speakers.

Here are some highlights, many written by @ColmBracken:

The Cannes Debate with Sir Martin Sorrell and Keith Weed

What’s Next for Marketing? PwC, IPG and J and J at Cannes Lions 2010

Yahoo! and Ben Stiller at Cannes Lions 2010

Are You Contagious? – Cannes Lions 2010

The PR agency, Hill & Knowlton were there too, blogging from the ground and doing video interviews.

You can see all their stuff on Cannes Eye, includes a great video of their Improv Everywhere session outside the Palais that cause much hilarity and food for thought.

I interviewed about 30 agency and Microsoft excecs and delegates, which you can see on our YouTube Channel - some of the content is pretty MSFT-centric but there are a load of insights there from agency execs from MEC, PHD, Starcom Mediavest Group, IPG Media Brands, Group M and Vivaki, so have a dig around.

In all, it was an extremely encouraging event.

With the spend on digital getting more pronounced, and the likes of mobile and games advertising gathering more mainstream moss, gawd knows where we’ll be next year!

Cheers Mel, and good exposure for Microsoft out there – here’s our efforts http://www.campaignlive.co.uk/go/cannes_2010/

Thanks Arif – we tried to keep it balanced. That’s why we locked Colm in the Palais! ;-)
