Would love to know how much footage they actually saw before it went out, but I bet the inquisitive female audience who might have watched could well have been turned by all the emphasis on their fashion foray.

Dear Mr Murdoch, This is how you opt out of Google…

There seem to be two big themes these days at Mr Murdoch’s News Corporation, both doubtlessly stimulated by their woeful financial results announced a month or so back. The first is that readers are going to have to pay for digital content (to turn round News Corp’s dreadful finances) and the second is to attack companies that might hinder this new business model.

You’re All Very, Very Nice Indeed. No Really…

There’s a potentially landmark legal ruling that has just been handed down in New York, where Google, in the form of their Blogger blogging platform has been forced to reveal one of their user’s identities. The user in question wrote an anonymous blog called “Skanks”in which he attacked fashion model, Liskula Cohen, in rather nasty and personal way. Modesty and a natural sense of caution about all things legal forbids me repeating exactly what the user wrote, but it’s easy enough to find out if you’re into that kind of thing.

Google – Are We Running Out Of Domain Names?

Not according to Vint Cerf - Chief Internet Evangelist at Google – who was just on BBC Breakfast.

In a 5 minute piece on the future of the web “Bill ‘n’ Sian” managed to asked some silly questions (at their own admission) about whether there was life on other planets when Vint was talking about the interplanetary internet communication protocol he’s working on!

Further to my post on the subject earlier this month, the Guardian reports the Information Commissioner’s Office has said it’s satisfied Google’s doing its utmost to safeguard people’s privacy as it rolls out its new service.

Jon Beeston from Efficient Frontier has discovered the Google may be planning to offer advertisers a Cost-Per-Acquisition model to gain leads from people searching for financial products…

On his blog Jon was wily enough to get some screenshots of what's obviously a test across a small percentage of Google's traffic.

Buzz Targeting Hot or Not?

YouTube/Google has been building an algo which forecast when a video is HOT and about to go viral…..

The press release says: "The algorithm looks at several factors, such as acceleration of views, favorites, and ratings activity, and then allows advertisers to target their ads specifically to these videos on YouTube."
